Cindy DeGroen is a Senior Demographer at the Colorado State Demography Office, the primary state agency for demographic information and the office representing state and local concerns relating to the conduct of the decennial census. Cindy has over 25 years of experience analyzing population and economic trends for the United States and Colorado. Her roles include producing population, household, and labor force projections as well as working with state agencies, local governments, nonprofits and the business community in understanding the relationships between the population and the economy and the drivers of growth and change within it. A self-confessed data nerd, Cindy holds a degree in mathematics and continues research on aging, fertility, migration, and data visualization. Her favorite childhood book was Fabulous Facts About the 50 States, a book about data before data was cool.
